HELL IN THE OLD VALERA:
RECKLESSNESS OR REALITY!

In these end times, where abound so many versions of the Bible that do not all say the same thing, there has arisen the old version of the Spanish Bible by Casiodoro de Reina and Cipriano de Valera. This is the same “word” given by the Lord to the apostles and at the same time given by the churches to us in our day.

What a flaming torch in the midst of the darkness to continue giving us a message, an urgent warning!

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted…” sons of men!” And it is precisely at this point that we ask ourselves why it would be necessary for one to repent and be converted from his sins. It was necessary for God Himself to leave His throne of glory in order to come to this world in the likeness of men and die in my place on the cross of Calvary. It is urgent this repentance and conversion to Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, the eternal redemption of our souls and salvation from hell? And hell is exactly where everything begins. With this word I ask myself: “Is it reckless or realistic, the teaching on hell in the Reina-Valera1865?” Because in comparison with all the other Spanish versions it is by far superior, maintaining the existence of this place called hell in over 43 verses (while the 1960 Bible has the word “infierno” only 13 times), “…where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched”, (Mark 9:44). These “super-gifted” scholars decided to substitute the word “infierno” (hell) for hade or sheol. Of course, they “wouldn’t be so foolish” as to not realize that these two places are NOT the same place as hell. Of course they realized it! But, how could one sustain a doctrine such as purgatory, which has produced much “gain”, if at first you don’t edit the Bible so that it does not contain such a terror filled doctrine as hell.

Finally, the macabre plan of the devil is to deceive as many people as possible into thinking that hell does not exist. And how many will be horrified, just as the rich man, to find themselves in this place of torture? But it will be too late! It was too late for the rich man to warn his family the hell exists. And Bible pastors and teachers are now charged to give the same warning. But how can they do it without the old Valera Bible? The word of God certainly is “fearless” and realistic. Hell exists! ¡Repent and be ye converted!
